Katherine Cook
A ten-minute timed soundscape for a four-dancer improvisation score by Katherine Cook, inspired by John Cage's 1944 writing on rhythmic clarity and grace. Four distinct 'alarm' sounds (vibraphone, dark crash, synth effect, female voice) recur at 24-, 40-, 50- and 60-second intervals, each cueing one dancer to fall, and sound together only at the ten-minute mark; the opening minutes and the final minute hold only the alarms, with a freer middle section.
